Superwire.com Names Karidis as a V.P.

George Karidis has been appointed vice president of strategic planning and corporate development for Superwire.com Inc. in Irvine. Previously, Karidis spent seven years as a market analyst with the Yankee Group, a telecommunications research firm, where he was responsible for managing the firm’s research and consulting practice in Canada.

* Anthony H. Wild has been elected to the board of directors of Allergan Inc. in Irvine. He succeeds Henry Wendt, who recently retired after serving as a board member for 11 years. Wild is a founding partner and chief executive of MedPointe Capital Partners LLC, a New Jersey-based specialty pharmaceutical private equity firm.

* Bobby D. Spaid has been named to the newly created position of vice president and chief information officer for Beckman Coulter Inc. in Fullerton. He had been vice president and chief information officer of Jacobs Engineering in Pasadena. Before that, Spaid spent 12 years with Atlantic Richfield Co.

* Thomas C. Billstein has been named chief operating officer for Prolong Super Lubricants in Irvine. He retains the titles of executive vice president and secretary. William J. Howell, who has served as a director of Prolong International, the parent company, and Prolong Super Lubricants since June 1999, has been appointed vice president and general counsel for the subsidiary. In addition, R. Jack Aplin was elected to the board of Prolong International. From 1986 to 1989, Aplin was president and chief executive of Spectramed Inc., a medical products company. Robert G. Abdellah, vice president, corporate communications, has also been assigned investor relations responsibility for the company.

* Edward G. Segovia has been named vice president of operations for Andrew L. Youngquist Construction in Costa Mesa. He had been director of operations.

* Dean Samsvick has been appointed Orange County office managing partner at KPMG LLP in Costa Mesa, and partner-in-charge of the Orange County assurance practice. He succeeds Doug Ammerman as managing partner. Ammerman will concentrate on his position as national partner-in-charge of the personal financial planning practice. Samsvick joined KPMG in 1981 and was made a partner in 1990. In 1997, he was named head of the technology practice in Orange County.

* Norman C. Karns has joined RE3W Inc. in Costa Mesa as Internet production manager. He was formerly responsible for company Web sites and Internet strategy at George Lucas’ learning software company, Lucas Learning. Before that, Karns was a producer of games software at Virgin Interactive Entertainment.

* Felipe Arjonilla has been named vice president of sales and marketing for Aeronet Worldwide in Irvine. He has previously served as commercial director for DHL Worldwide Express and Aeromexpress Air Cargo.

* William L. Prichard has joined Bock Communications Inc. in Costa Mesa as vice president. He had been with FBC/Creative Works in Irvine for 11 years.

* Anthony Miller has joined iCoTech in Costa Mesa as director of sales. Previously, Miller was president and chief executive of Multiplicity Co., an independent consulting firm in Newport Beach. Before that, he was vice president, sales of Los Angeles-based Boss Disks Inc. and vice president of sales at Celluland Inc., a San Diego telecommunications company.
