* Update--The Sparks reach the WNBA’s regular-season finish line tonight, looking for a 3-0 season sweep over Utah, a team reportedly in varying stages of unrest. Utah had high hopes this season but missed the playoffs. Second-year Coach Fred Williams is under fire from fans and players. Although the Starzz beat Portland, 83-73, on Monday, Utah has lost two of its last three. Natalie Williams is Utah’s leader, averaging 18.5 points and a league-leading 11.5 rebounds. The Sparks’ Lisa Leslie is third in rebounding at 9.6. Utah’s Adrienne Goodson is averaging 17.2 points and 5.6 rebounds. Margo Dydek, Utah’s 7-foot-2 center, leads the WNBA in blocked shots (3.06 a game). The Sparks proceed from Salt Lake City to Phoenix for Friday’s Western Conference first-round playoff opener.
