Dan Sawall is New V.P., Manager at d.e.m.o.

* Dan Sawall has been appointed vice president, general merchandise manager of d.e.m.o. Stores, part of Anaheim-based Pacific Sunwear of California Inc. Previously, Sawall was vice president, general merchandise manager for Guess Stores and prior to that, was men’s merchandise manager for Dillard’s Department Stores.

* Karlene Wells has been named account executive at BKD Design in Fountain Valley. She previously worked for two Minneapolis-based agencies.

* Dick Weil has been named to the new position of chief operating officer of Pacific Investment Management Co. in Newport Beach. He had been managing director, general counsel and head of corporate services for Pimco Advisors.

* Kathie J. Sitton has been named vice president and controller at Coreland Carlson in Tustin, a commercial real estate firm. Before joining the company in 1997, Sitton was director of treasury operations at Koll Management Services Inc. Steven J. Hogberg was appointed vice president of leasing and investment sales. He joined the company in 1994 after working in the office division of Bishop Hawk of Southern California. In addition, Yukie Meyers has been named regional property manager. Previously, she was general manager at Compass Management and Leasing. Meyers has also been a property manager with Sares-Regis Group.

Ron Redfern has been named vice president of Freedom Interactive Newspaper Group, a division of Freedom Communications Inc. He has been president and chief operating officer of the Orange County Register, which is published by Irvine-based Freedom Communications.
