TUSTIN
Construction of the new Red Hill Elementary School began with the removal of classrooms and buildings from the vacant campus earlier this week. The school, which opened in 1968 and was closed and leased to various tenants beginning in 1982, will reopen because of enrollment growth in the area, district officials said.
The $6-million project includes 20 classrooms, a multipurpose room, outdoor stage, a lunchroom and playground area. The school is on 9.6 acres in North Tustin and is scheduled to open in fall 2001. Information: (714) 730-7339.
