MiniMed Founder Names Co-CEO

* Alfred Mann, the founder, chairman and chief executive of MiniMed Inc., has tapped company President and Chief Operating Officer Terrance Gregg to share the executive leadership of the Sylmar-based medical devices maker as co-CEO in the newly formed office of the chief executive.
* MGM Distribution Co., a unit of Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Inc., has named Ian Sutherland senior vice president, international theatrical distribution and marketing. Based in Los Angeles, he will oversee international release plans and spearhead international publicity campaigns for all MGM and United Artists films. Sutherland is formerly an executive with United International Pictures in London.
* Sempra Energy has named Edwin Guiles group president of the company’s regulated business units and chairman of both Southern California Gas Co. in Los Angeles and San Diego Gas & Electric. He succeeds Warren Mitchell, who retired last month as group president and chairman of both utilities.
* Los Angeles-based apparel maker Laundry by Shelli Segal has appointed Ira Goldspiel as senior vice president of merchandising and marketing. He will direct all merchandising, advertising, marketing and retail. Goldspiel is a former executive and general manager of A/X Armani Exchange.
