Tax Debate

* I am concerned about the debate and acrimony over the distribution of tax funds in Ventura County.
I believe the term “misdirected anger” is an appropriate one in this case. The shortage of tax dollars caused by the theft of local funds by the state Legislature in the early ‘90s has continually contributed the fund shortage for local governments.
The voters of the community must demand that their local representatives make a responsible effort to get these funds returned to the cities and counties.
I find it a disgrace that state government can continue to grow at the expense of the local communities.
