Marijuana Seized at Canadian Border
U.S. Customs officials Monday said they had arrested seven people for smuggling 240 pounds of potent marijuana into Washington state from British Columbia in Canadian military vehicles.
Customs agents Saturday seized two military vehicles at Blaine, Wash., after finding five duffel bags filled with “B.C. Bud,” which sells for $5,000 per pound on the U.S. East Coast.
The drivers of the two trucks--a sergeant in the Canadian reserves and another Canadian citizen--were arrested in Blaine.
Three other Canadians and two Americans were taken into custody soon after.
