Peter Pan Complex

Thanks for addressing a touchy subject with care and objectivity, and without judgment (“Modern Immaturity,” by Stephen Farber, Aug. 9). Being that I am one of these adolescent adult males, I find this rash of films both gratifying for its familiarity and nauseating for its vulnerability.

The answer to the myth of Peter Pan males lies in Joan Chen’s lucid observation of the American tradition of avoidance of pain. Let’s get Ingmar Bergman and Kevin Smith together and see what happens.
