Info Highway Not So Super

Share

Congratulations for finally focusing on a most troubling problem of the much-hyped “information superhighway” of our proud culture: that it really does not go anywhere! [“Well-Informed Citizens Increasingly Rare in Information Age”, July 17].

Our historical capacity to misuse, subvert, distort and corrupt no matter how good an idea might be for our society is demonstrated just too well in Gary Chapman’s excellent article.

It is high time to get rid of the huge oceans of garbage drowning out our brains before we all find ourselves hopelessly behind and nowhere near where we should be going. Let alone the wasted billions of dollars.
