City librarians rewarded 11 young residents for their interest in books this month, presenting them tickets to Disneyland and other prizes for their participation in the summer reading program.
Berta Guillen, 12, and Joey Ferguson, 9, won the Disneyland tickets--the grand prize--in a drawing for prizes open to all participants. The more books a child read, the more chances he or she got in the drawing.
About 980 children and teens participated in the program, reading a total of about 10,000 books since June, library officials said.
