Bike Racing (Downtown Ventura, 653-1100 or 643-1104). Sunday. The third annual Ventura Cycling Classic will be held on the streets of downtown Ventura. The race will serve as the Southern California/Nevada State Criterium Championships, with proceeds benefiting Ventura Youth Employment Services and other youth activities. A rectangular course will be set up along Main, Ash, Poli and California streets. There will be five race categories. The first race will start at 7:50 a.m. There is no charge for viewing the races.

Seabee Museum (Naval Construction Battalion Center, Port Hueneme, 982-5191). The exhibit was prepared by the Smithsonian Institution Traveling Exhibit Service. Through Labor Day weekend. Albinger Archeological Museum (113 E. Main St., Ventura, 648-5823 or 658-4726). Wed.-Sun., 1-4 p.m. “Discovering a Sense of Place: 19th Century Conejo Founding Families,” an exhibit dedicated to the founding families of the Conejo Valley. A permanent exhibit of artifacts describes the history of the Chumash in the Conejo Valley. A reproduction of the onetime stagecoach stop and hotel includes a large display of artifacts, one-room schoolhouse, pioneer home, Spanish adobe and Chumash display.
