Bike Racing (Downtown Ventura, 653-1100 or 643-1104). Sunday. The third annual Ventura Cycling Classic will be held on the streets of downtown Ventura. The race will serve as the Southern California/Nevada State Criterium Championships, with proceeds benefiting Ventura Youth Employment Services and other youth activities. A rectangular course will be set up along Main, Ash, Poli and California streets. There will be five race categories. The first race will start at 7:50 a.m. There is no charge for viewing the races.

Submissions for Ventura County Calendar Weekend listings should be sent to Rodney Bosch, Los Angeles Times, 93 S. Chestnut St., Ventura, CA 93001, or faxed to (805) 653-7576. Notices must be received at least 14 days before the event. Listings are free, but are printed on a space-available basis.
