Bloomberg News

America Online Inc., Inktomi Corp. and closely held Adero Inc. formed an alliance to help Internet users get information faster. The companies said they created Content Bridge to link online content providers with their customers more quickly and with fewer disruptions. AOL also said it bought a minority stake in Boston-based Adero, a network-services provider. Terms of the deals were not disclosed. Content Bridge will let content providers feed updated information to Internet service providers while maintaining control of their sites. Inktomi will deliver the content, Adero will update it and oversee transactions and AOL will provide the network. The service is expected to begin later this year. Shares of Foster City, Calif.-based Inktomi rose $9.13 to close at $120.74 on Nasdaq, and Dulles, Va.-based AOL rose $1 to close at $58.75 on the NYSE.
