German Bank Buys Powerwave Shares

Powerwave Technologies Inc. said Wednesday it has sold 1.5 million shares of its common stock to investment bank Deutsche Banc Alex. Brown, garnering about $61.8 million after expenses. The shares had been authorized previously but were unsold.

The Irvine company, which makes amplifiers used in wireless telephone networks, did not disclose how it planned to use the proceeds.
