Gallegly’s Record

* Re “Bush, Gallegly--Prop 187,” Ventura County Letters, Aug. 16.

I am already disgusted at the lies and mudslinging that extreme ultraliberals like this letter writer are engaging in, and it’s only August. In her mean-spirited attack on Rep. Elton Gallegly (R-Simi Valley), she dusts off old lies about Gallegly’s position on illegal immigration.

She and her partisan friends just can’t seem to accept the fact that here in Ventura County, Elton Gallegly enjoys broad support from Democrats, Republicans and Independents alike. The extreme ultraliberal always finds it impossible to say anything positive about Gallegly’s record of supporting and working hard to pass the patients’ bill of rights, his successful efforts to preserve our military bases and his outstanding record of helping thousands of people--regardless of politics or background--in resolving their problems with the government.

As a lifelong Democrat, I firmly support Elton Gallegly in all of his accomplishments for our congressional district, and I can attest, firsthand, to his dedication toward helping senior citizens and children at risk. Other Democrats know that Gallegly has worked hard for every resident of Ventura County. That’s why he deserves to be reelected this year.
