Crisis Team Needs Bilingual Volunteers

Share

The city’s Volunteer Bureau is seeking members, especially ones with bilingual skills, to serve on the Los Angeles Crisis Response Team.

Volunteers who speak Spanish, Korean or Russian are needed, said Jeff Zimerman, manager of the bureau, which was created in 1995 by Mayor Richard Riordan.

Crisis response team members provide immediate on-scene intervention, emotional support and referrals for victims and their families after a crime or accident.

Volunteers must be at least 21 and in good physical condition, Zimerman said.

The next training session will be in November.

Those interested may contact Zimerman at (213) 485-4385 for further details.
