Scotland’s Battlefield Band, now in its 31st year, is back on a tour that reaches San Juan Capistrano on Sunday. The group is weathering the recent departure for health reasons of guitarist-bodhran player Davy Steele, but it has added singer-guitarist Karine Polwart for the current tour. The quartet’s latest album, “Leaving Friday Harbor,” has plenty of traditional tunes alongside originals by Steele, who left after the album was done, singer-keyboardist Alan Reid, fiddler John McCusker and piper Mike Katz. Among its delightful surprises is Katz’s “Jesse ‘The Body’ Ventura Reel,” surely the only bagpipe-led musical tribute to the flamboyant wrestler-turned-Minnesota governor.

The “Secret World of the Forbidden City: Splendor From China’s Imperial Palace” is in its final week. The exhibition offers a glimpse of the opulence and heritage of the Chinese imperial court under the Qing Dynasty, 1644-1911. The exhibition brings together a selection of more than 300 objects from the Palace Museum in Beijing, including royal robes, warriors’ armor, jewelry, portraits, calligraphy and a complete throne room.
