Library Hosts Weekend Art Sale
With items ranging from painted porcelain plates to paintings by local artists, Simi Valley Art Assn. members will sell their work today, Saturday and Sunday at the group’s annual art sale at the Simi Valley Library.
The sale will take place from 1 to 5 p.m. today and Sunday and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday at the library, 2969 Tapo Canyon Road. Admission is free.
About 10 of the group’s 60 members will display their works to help raise money for the organization’s scholarship fund.
Each artist will donate 10% of his or her sales to the fund, which awards a scholarship to a graduating Simi Valley-area high school student who pursues an art major in college, said Ruth Marple, president of the art association.
Marple and other artists plan to sell a collection of decorated bookmarks, watercolor paintings and greeting cards.
