Universal Names Walt Disney’s Kathy Nelson to Oversee Its Newly Combined Film Music Unit

* Veteran music industry executive Kathy Nelson has been tapped as president of film music for Universal Music Group and Universal Pictures, a new division that combines key aspects of the two companies. She will oversee development of all soundtrack albums for Universal Music Group’s U.S. labels, and will manage all aspects of development of feature film music at Universal Pictures. Nelson is currently the president of film music for Walt Disney Motion Picture Group.

* Irvine-based architecture firm GKK Corp. has named architect Dick Kerzic as a principal of its GKKHealthcare division. He is a former executive with Centex Rodgers. The company also named Juan Caldentey, a former Brown & Root Corp. project manager, as program director. Both will be based in GKK’s Pasadena offices.

* Los Angeles design firm Arquitectonica has promoted Christopher W. Coe to vice president.

* Kaufman & Broad Home Corp. has tapped Bryan Binyon as vice president and treasurer responsible for managing the capitalization and funding for the Los Angeles-based home builder. He previously served as treasurer at American General Finance.

* Shelly Eisenberg has been named vice president, loan closings, at Calabasas-based ARCS Commercial Mortgage Co. He previously was with Freddie Mac.

* General contractor PCL Construction Services has tapped Paula Stamp as marketing manager. She most recently was marketing manager of Ray Wilson Co.

* Los Angeles-based Quisic, an online learning and training program provider, has named Alexander Hansen chief financial officer. He’s a former CFO for Web site Creative Planet.

* Guidance Solutions Inc., a Marina del Rey-based online business developer, has named Blair Taylor vice president of its retail and customer brands division. He is a former vice president of MValue.com.

* EUniverse, an entertainment network, has hired former News Corp./Fox Entertainment Group executive Will Griffin as general manager and executive vice president of business development.
