* Oren Aviv has been named president of Buena Vista Pictures marketing in Burbank, effective immediately. Aviv assumes the duties of Geoffrey Ammer, former co-president. Aviv will continue to oversee creative materials, publicity, promotions, media and Internet development and marketing.

Buena Vista Pictures is a unit of the Walt Disney Co.

* Warner Bros. Pictures of Burbank announced the appointments of Lionel Wigram, senior vice president, production; Sue Kroll, president, international marketing; and Veronika Kwan-Rubinek, president of international distribution.

Wigram is currently overseeing the feature film adaptation of the “Harry Potter” book series. Kroll will oversee marketing, advertising, media planning and research. Kwan-Rubinek will oversee distribution and film release functions.

* Caroline Molchan, has been appointed director of sales for TVN Entertainment in Burbank. Molchan will coordinate deals with multiple system operators for TVN’s digital content express suite of services.

TVN is a digital distribution services company specializing in the management and secure delivery of professional video and audio content, including movies and advertising.

* Sherna Mathew has been promoted to the position of assistant vice president and branch manager of the Warner Center office of Manufacturers Bank in Los Angeles.

Manufacturers Bank is a subsidiary of the Sakura Bank Ltd. providing lending and cash management services to California’s middle-market business community through 10 regional banking centers.

* Vertel Corp. in Woodland Hills announced several appointments with the reorganization of its operations into business units aligned with specific products.

Sean Gavin will become general manager, WebResolve; Leonid Kalika has been appointed general manager, Mediation Solutions; Toni Graham has been promoted to general manager, e*ORB; and Koert Blom will become general manager, TMN product line.

Craig S. Scott has been named vice president of finance and administration, and chief financial officer and secretary, replacing Gordon L. Almquist, who has resigned to pursue other interests. He will remain with the company for a limited time to assist with the transition. David Boss has been named controller.

Vertel specializes in management software for broadband, wireless and Internet networks.
