* Accelerated Networks in Moorpark has promoted Edward E. Thurman to president and chief operating officer. Thurman joined Accelerated Networks earlier this year as chief technology officer after spending five years at Sprint.

Other promotions announced by the telecommunications company include Hitendra Soni, who was named vice president of worldwide sales, and Fima Vaisman, who is the new vice president of marketing.

* Semtech Corp. in Newbury Park has named John Milios chief technology officer and vice president of advanced marketing. Milios has a dozen years of experience in the semiconductor industry. In his new role, Milios will be responsible for the long-term technical direction of Semtech.
