Argyros’ Plan

So, the supremely arrogant George Argyros thinks we, the Orange County voters, should “wake up” and finally see he is right about Measure F and the El Toro airport, and we (more than two-thirds of Orange County voters) are wrong.

Wake up, George! The voters have made it clear that they need not listen to super-rich bullies and their lackeys, specifically the clueless Group of Three who do your bidding while masquerading as “supervisors”. Argyros has been quoted as saying he is bankrolling the airport plan not for himself but for his children and grandchildren. At last, an indicator he is flirting with clear thinking: His El Toro airport dream will not become a reality in his lifetime.

* George Argyros’ “rational approach” article (Orange County Voices, Dec. 3) completely avoids dealing with the reality of the negative impacts that we in South County will be forced to deal with if his airport plan, large or small, gets off the ground. I wish Argyros had been in my kid’s schoolyard or my backyard during the flight demonstration, so he could tell me more about his “rational approach” proposal. The only problem would have been that I wouldn’t have been able to hear him over the roaring jet noise overhead. We will never support or endorse his smaller airport proposal, as it negatively impacts too many residents in Orange County.
