Anne Barton, 72, a motion picture, television and theater actress from the 1950s through the 1970s. Barton appeared in supporting roles in such films as “The Left-Handed Gun” starring Paul Newman in 1958, “What Ever Happened to Baby Jane?” starring Bette Davis and Joan Crawford in 1962 and “The Way West” in a large cast headed by Kirk Douglas and Robert Mitchum in 1967. On TV, Barton made frequent appearances in episodes of “The Twilight Zone,” “Gunsmoke,” “Have Gun, Will Travel” and “Perry Mason.” She had a recurring role as the mother of the wiseacre Eddie Haskell in “Leave It to Beaver.” Barton was cast in a number of movies made for TV, including “The Stranger Who Looks Like Me” in 1974. She starred in plays in small theaters in New York and Los Angeles. Locally, she performed in a 1953 production of “Mister Roberts” opposite Craig Stevens at Las Palmas Theater and in the 1954 comedy “Another Language” at Players Ring. On Nov. 27 in Los Angeles.
