Liquid Audio Inc., whose products enable companies to distribute music over the Internet, said it is bidding for the assets of Scour Inc. to gain software that allows users to exchange music files online. Liquid Audio joins Internet search service Listen.com and software maker CenterSpan Communications Corp. in bidding for the assets of Scour, which sought bankruptcy protection in October after the entertainment industry sued it for allowing users to circulate copyright material illegally. The winning bid will be determined by the court Tuesday. Liquid Audio declined to comment on how much it bid for the Scour assets. Shares of Redwood City, Calif.-based Liquid Audio closed off 13 cents at $3.88 on Nasdaq, before news of its bid was released.
