Blue Planet Gets Oil Recycling Grant
The Blue Planet Foundation recently received a $155,916 grant to fund used-oil recycling projects.
The nonprofit organization, which promotes water conservation and environmental protection in Orange County, was one of 10 programs chosen by the California Integrated Waste Management Board to expand the county’s used-oil recycling efforts.
The grant is geared to educate residents on how to protect the region’s ground water since it is the main supplier of drinking water in the county.
The grant will provide funds for workshops to evaluate used-oil recycling activities in the county, help expand local water education programs in grades K-12 and produce community recycling materials and surveys.
The Blue Planet Foundation is at 10500 Ellis Ave., Fountain Valley. Information: (714) 378-3362.
