Elementary Schools Host Work Parties
A work party to clean up the playground areas at two elementary schools will start at 10 a.m. today and last until the work is done.
Playground equipment at Sespe and San Cayetano elementary schools was torn down earlier this year because it no longer met state safety regulations. New equipment will be put up soon, Fillmore Unified School District officials said.
The district’s Playground Planning Committee is holding today’s work party to prepare the play areas so contractors can install the new equipment. Interested residents may participate at either school.
Food and baby-sitting will be provided. Awards of $50 and a pizza party will go to the class at each school that draws the most volunteers.
Sespe Elementary is at 425 Orchard St. and San Cayetano Elementary is at 514 Mountain View St.
A work party for Piru Elementary School, 3811 E. Center St., will be at 10 a.m. Dec. 16.
