Rio Elementary School District teachers and administrators will hold their annual Christmas dinner for the community today.
Students and their parents are invited to the dinner, to be held from 4 to 7 p.m. at Rio del Valle Junior High School, 3100 Rose Ave.
The district works with the Rio California School Employees Assn. to present this family Christmas event, which has been held for the last seven years. Last year, 700 people were served. This year, organizers expect as many as 900 people.
District employees and local merchants have donated turkeys and the trimmings. Participating merchants include Home Depot, Vons, Yolanda’s Restaurant and HomeBase.
