Legend Airlines Suspends Operations

Share

Passengers booked on Legend Airlines flights had to scramble for other travel arrangements last weekend after the Texas-based carrier suspended operations and filed for federal bankruptcy protection. The carrier, which featured what it called first-class service at coach prices on flights from Dallas to Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Washington and New York City, began flying in April. T. Allan McArtor, Legend’s president and CEO, blamed the financial problems on the high costs of fuel and refurbishing Legend’s fleet of DC-9s. He said last week he was seeking investors to bail out the airline.
