After trying several Web sites, I decided on https://www.invented-city.com to try out house swapping this summer. We found a great switch with an English couple who had a home in St. Andrews, Scotland. We loved being in one place long enough to unpack clothes, do laundry, sleep late, shop in the markets, take numerous day trips and explore local restaurants.
It does take a leap of faith, but my Irvine townhouse and car were in perfect condition when we returned. However, I waited until February and found out that most swaps are set in the fall for the next summer, so don’t wait too long.
