How Nonprofits Can Pick Up Extra Cash
There’s more to fund-raising than selling cookies, candy bars or magazine subscriptions.
Local community groups can get $325 for cleaning up litter through the city’s Adopt-A-Park program.
City officials are looking for organizations interested in adopting a park or public area for a 17-week period. They would be required to pick up paper, cans, bottles and other litter at least once a week to receive the money. City maintenance crews will take care of more extensive projects.
Applications must be received by 5 p.m. Jan. 2 to take part in the next Adopt-A-Park session, which runs Jan. 29 through May 27.
Eligible groups must be nonprofit Fullerton-based organizations with a membership of mostly Fullerton residents. Participants must be at least 14 years old.
