* Pops--The Conejo Pops Orchestra, conducted by Elmer Ramsey, will host its annual New Year’s Eve concert at the Thousand Oaks Civic Arts Plaza’s Kavli Theatre. The “Night in Vienna” fete will feature pianist Daniel Pollack and plenty of other talent. The program will begin at 8 p.m. and conclude about 10:30. The venue is at 2100 E. * Musical--The Simi Valley Cultural Arts Center will host a New Year’s Eve opening-night gala for “Man of La Mancha,” a Tony Award-winning musical based on Miguel de Cervantes’ novel “Don Quixote.” A post-show party with the cast will include champagne, food, dancing and more. $65. The show will begin at 8 p.m. 581-9940.

* Improv--The improvisational acting troupe Ventura Area TheatreSports will host a New Year’s Eve party at the Livery Theatre in downtown Ventura. The troupe, which recently won California’s state TheatreSports championship, will stage a year-in-review performance. Door prizes, drinks and other goodies will be included in this all-ages activity. Doors open at 7:30 p.m. $20 adults; $10 children. The theater is at 34 N. Palm St. 643-5701.

* Magic--The Ventura Master Chorale will present a New Year’s Eve fund-raiser, “The Magic of the Night,” at the San Buenaventura Mission. The event will feature noted magician Aldo Columbini, plus gourmet foods, dancing, a silent auction and more. Festivities will be held from 8:30 p.m. to 12:30 a.m. $75. The mission is at 211 E.
