King Norodom Sihanouk, a fixture in Cambodian politics for more than 50 years, has revealed that he suffered a minor stroke and that his health is failing. The 78-year-old monarch’s halting comments were broadcast on state TV on Wednesday night. “Mine was a minor stroke, and occasionally I feel a numbness in some parts of my body,” he said. Sihanouk, who reigns but wields little political influence, has long suffered from colon cancer and other illnesses.
