Don’t Ruin the Surprise

I read Michael Phillips’ review of Cornerstone Theater Company’s show “For Here or to Go?” with great disappointment, not because the show was given poor marks, but because the unexpected “gimmick” that makes the show so charming was given away in the second paragraph, effectively ruining the holiday surprise (“Holiday Chaos in the Spirit of Fa-La-La Land,” Dec. 19).

Most movie reviewers are especially careful not to spoil the ending or plot twists that make the film shine. Why can’t the theatergoing audience be afforded the same courtesy?
