His Social Calendar Is Getting Kind of Full

Hey, Stu Nahan, I like T.J. too, and have e-mailed The Times on more than one occasion saying so. I also have e-mailed T.J. himself, admonishing him to not waste so many inches on boring sports like hockey.

The fact that it has only four rules is part of the problem. Hockey needs a rule like baseball has, that, if you attack an opposing player with a piece of wood, you are kicked out of the game, suspended for a week or so, and fined big bucks. That way, the beauty of professional skating abilities would not be buried by the back-alley thuggery. My invitation to T.J., on me, of course, would be a couple of hours not watching hockey.

The first line in T.J. Simers’ column this morning [Dec. 21] about “ants running this way and that on a sheet of ice” explains why I don’t go to games at Staples anymore.

But I don’t know which bothers me more, the fact that I’ll never see a Kings’ game again, or that I agree with T.J. Simers!
