SUVs: Road Bullies

Share

It is about time SUVs are recognized for what they are: the bullies of the automotive world that are a danger to their owners and a threat to all others on the highway who have chosen saner, more responsible and all-around better vehicles in which to get about [“New Technologies Alter How Rates for Auto Policies Are Set,” Dec. 8].

Their bulky presence in parking lots alone contributes greatly to the fender-benders that typically cost around $1,000 to repair. No doubt their whining, self-centered owners will scream bloody murder at the thought of higher insurance rates.

My hat is off to the insurance companies for putting the onus where it belongs. Just maybe the message will sink in with the SUV owners as well and they will abandon their pariah status on the highway.
