Hospital Offers Free Memory Screenings

Share

Sherman Oaks will offer free memory screening next week for people concerned about memory loss.

The screening, conducted by a registered nurse, takes about 20 minutes. Participants are given a copy of the results that can be shared with their physician.

“The purpose is to find out if it’s normal memory loss or if something else is going on,” said Marcella Valles, office manager of the hospital’s Specialized Ambulatory Geriatric Evaluation Center.

Screenings are held on the first and third Wednesday of each month from 1 to 3 p.m. They will be offered Jan. 3 and Jan. 17 at the center at 5000 Van Nuys Blvd., Suite 110, across from the hospital.

Appointments are required and can be made by calling (818) 990-2573.
