From Times Wire Reports

An anti-corruption panel threw Thai politics into disarray less than two weeks before a general election by finding the leading contender for prime minister guilty of financial wrongdoing that could bar him from the office. But telecommunications tycoon Thaksin Shinawatra said he would continue pursuing the post even though the National Counter Corruption Commission ruled that he concealed assets as deputy prime minister in 1997. The finding must be confirmed by the Constitutional Court, which could take months.
