* Disney Consumer Products Group of Burbank announced the promotions of Fernando Avila to vice president of operations and technology for shared services infrastructure operations, and Rachel Glaser to vice president of operations and technology for global merchandising.

Avila joined Disney in 1980 and has been involved in technology initiatives at the corporate level, the company said. Glaser came to Disney in 1986 and has held various positions within the finance department.

Disney Interactive, a part of the consumer products division, said it has promoted Steve Gilbert to vice president of finance and operations, and Thierry Braille to vice president and managing director of Disney Interactive Europe.

Gilbert, a 10-year veteran of the Walt Disney Co., had most recently been director of finance and operations for Disney Interactive. Braille was managing director of Virgin Interactive France and Benelux before joining Disney in 1998.

* Charles Mauzy has been named vice president of business development for Altamira Group Inc. of Burbank. Mauzy had held the same position with Eye Wire Inc., which acquired Adobe’s visual content and marketing division.

Altamira develops and markets digital imaging solutions.

* James R. McCullough has been appointed chief executive of Coyote Network Systems Inc. of Westlake Village. He will be nominated to serve as a member of Coyote’s board of directors. McCullough succeeds James J. Fiedler, who remains chairman of the board.

Coyote Networks provides telecommunication switching equipment, network carrier services and applications, primarily to emerging and entrepreneurial carriers, allowing them to bundle local, long distance and Internet services.

* William R. Lyon has been appointed executive director of the Chatsworth-based Free Speech Coalition, the trade association of the adult entertainment industry. Lyon had been vice president of marketing and business development with software developer Prosona Partners of Chicago.

Lyons also served as marketing services executive for the Exceptional Children’s Foundation, a nonprofit organization serving the developmentally disabled.

* Paul Cleveland has been appointed president and chief executive of All American Casting International Inc. of North Hollywood, the company said, after the resignation of Richard Kipping, who remains chairman of the board of the company.

American Casting manufactures specialty collectible merchandise.

* David E. Padilla has been promoted to vice president of national sales at Franklin Telecom of Westlake Village. Padilla had been director of channel sales.

Franklin Telecom designs and manufactures communications devices, including hardware and software solutions for voice over Internet protocol applications.
