Holocaust

Michael Berenbaum’s thoughtful article condemning Holocaust denial (Commentary, Jan. 28) briefly summarized the overwhelming historical evidence of the Holocaust. I feel this is wrong. It doesn’t take a historian to know that the Holocaust deniers are nut cases. There is no reasoning with these people.

Engaging them in debate or argument gives them a dangerous credibility that they do not normally command. Let’s just dismiss them as the lunatic fringe that they are. This goes for the creationists as well. It was interesting to see how Holocaust deniers and creationists use many of the same tricks.
