The Women’s Olympic Soccer Team has turned down an offer from the city to hold its Olympic training camp at the World Cup Soccer Facility near La Paz Road and Marguerite Parkway. The team has chosen to hold its practices at the Olympic soccer facility in Chula Vista instead. Kelly Doyle, director of the Community Services for the city, said the city will now move forward with plans to remodel the buildings at the facility for use as community rooms, rather than waiting until after the team finished training there.
