Heavy Rain Leaves at Least 19 Dead in South Africa

NELSPRUIT, South Africa —
Torrential rain in the northern part of South Africa left at least 19 people dead as flooding washed away roads and bridges and snarled traffic, news reports said Monday.
Parts of the popular Kruger National Park were isolated because of flooded roads. A parks spokesperson said 18.4 inches of rain had fallen in 18 hours.
