Pimco Advisors Names Managing Director

Richard M. Weil has been appointed managing director of Pimco Advisors LP in Newport Beach. He assumes leadership of the newly formed Corporate Services Group, which provides legal, finance, human resources and technology support to the fixed-income, equity and retail businesses of Pimco Advisors. He had been general counsel for Pimco Advisors and a managing director at Oppenheimer Capital. Others named to new positions were: Robert M. Fitzgerald, executive vice president, director of finance; James G. Ward, executive vice president, director of human resources; Andrew P. Bocko, senior vice president, director of technology; Bradley W. Paulson, senior vice president, chief legal officer-international; and Frank C. Poli, senior vice president, chief legal officer-equities.

Ross Cooley has joined the board of advisors of Viking Components Inc. in Rancho Santa Margarita. Cooley is chairman and chief executive of PcOrder.com and former general manager of Compaq’s North American business operations.

Harold Burlingame has joined the board of directors of E-rehab in San Juan Capistrano. He is executive vice president of merger and joint venture integration at AT&T.;

Solveig Whittle is the new vice president, marketing, for FutureLink Corp. in Irvine. She had been at Microsoft Corp. for eight years and has held product development and marketing positions at AT&T; Bell Laboratories. Jamie Beckerich has been named director, strategic business unit. He joined FutureLink from Electronic Data Systems, where he was offering manager in the Information Services Group. Beckerich was also regional information technology manager for Vinson & Elkins LLP and systems designer for Intecom.
