City officials have already publicly voted for two measures on the March ballot.

Without hesitation, council members unanimously voted Tuesday to support Measure F next month.

If passed, the Safe and Healthy Communities Initiative would require two-thirds voter approval for building or expanding airports or hazardous waste facilities; it would also apply to jails built within a half-mile of homes.

Proposition 12, the $2-billion park bond measure, passed on a 3-2 vote.

Assistant City Manager Donald White said the city would get about $376,000 from the Park, Water and Coastal Protection Act, intended to strengthen parks, coastal and recreation projects in the city.
