Dodgers to Open With Star Power

The blockbuster deal that sent Ken Griffey Jr. to the Cincinnati Reds has benefited the Dodgers as well, Dodger officials said Friday.

Interest in tickets for the season’s first series at Dodger Stadium--April 14, 15 and 16 against the Reds--increased quickly after the Seattle Mariners sent the all-star center fielder to Cincinnati on Thursday. The Dodgers believe that Griffey and the renovated stadium will help stir excitement when the team returns from its opening three-city, 10-game trip.

Tickets for individual games go on sale March 10. Packages of six or more tickets can be purchased now by calling the stadium ticket office at (323) 224-1448.
