Rapper Busta Rhymes will be featured in two new TV commercials for Mountain Dew, with cross-promotions being drawn up in conjunction with his next album, due in early summer. Meanwhile, in addition to ongoing development of an animated series featuring Rhymes and Missy “Misdemeanor” Elliott, development on a movie starring Rhymes is now underway, as well as a second animation project, all accelerated by the recent alignment of Violator Management and Michael Ovitz’s Artists Management Group. . . .

Ozomatli, Cypress Hill, Control Machete, King Chango and Aterciopelados will have new songs in the rock en espan~ol soundtrack to “Price of Glory,” a boxing story starring Jimmy Smits and former Golden Gloves boxer Jon Seda. Older tracks by Los Lobos, Mano Negra and Puya will also be on the album, due April 4. . . .

Michael Beinhorn, who produced Hole’s “Celebrity Skin” and Marilyn Manson’s “Mechanical Animals,” has started work with the Cult on its first album in six years.
