Guidebook Pinpoints Jewish Sites in L.A.

New in town and looking for a synagogue to join? Planning to enroll your child in a Jewish preschool? Searching for a kosher restaurant? The Jewish Federation’s newly published guide may be of help.

“A Guide to the Los Angeles Jewish Community” includes listings of organizations, agencies, synagogues, bookstores, teen groups, camps, preschools, religious schools and day schools.

Last published in 1997, the updated guide now includes listings of singles and young adult programs, mikvaot (Jewish ritual baths), cemeteries and mortuaries, kosher food and Judaica shops, as well as many Web sites and e-mail addresses.

The 140-page Los Angeles guide includes the San Fernando, Santa Clarita and Antelope valleys and is available for free by calling the Jewish Federation at (323) 761-8142.
