Stationer Has Right Type for Consumers, Printers

SPECIAL TO THE TIMES

Although most inventory at the Kelly Paper stores is aimed at the printing trade, a small percentage is packaged for the general public.

The fine quality paper comes from the nation’s top mills. Some tasteful invitations that would appeal to the most selective shopper are $10.10 for a package of 20 cards, much less than you would pay at many stores.

But price is not the bargain here as much as quality and the wide selection. Packages of 100 sheets of theme stationery featuring a place setting, which would be especially appropriate for a thank-you note for dinner or even an invitation to a dinner party, are $7.40.

If you have a wedding coming up, stop at a Kelly store before you order invitations, and check out the inventory. A package of 52 invitations and 50 envelopes is $26.73, and the response envelopes, with 102 in a package, are $15.01. Thank-you notes come in packages of 102 with 100 envelopes and run $17.30 in a white and silver design.

If that’s not what you’re looking for, you’ll find many others. The Brilliant announcement line, one of the most popular, has more than 50 designs. Don’t be put off by the industrial look of the place, because the personnel are most helpful in translating trade jargon into shopping terms.

Weekend Supersale: Two local Pendleton shops are having semiannual sales through the end of the month.

Selected merchandise from this classic line of apparel for men and women is reduced by 25%-50% off the original prices. Broken sizes, one-of-a-kind and last season’s product make up most of the sale inventory. There’s even a $20 rack.
