Susan F. Walker, 50, veteran producer and director of television specials and documentaries on such topics as Ed Sullivan and Groucho Marx. Long associated with Andrew Solt Productions, Walker over her 30-year career earned several nominations for Emmy and Cable ACE awards. She won a Cable ACE in 1994 for the special “All About Bette.” Educated at UCLA, Walker began as a writer, contributing freelance articles to The Times, and spent three years as a broadcast engineer for ABC. As an editor, director and producer for television specials, she tackled such subjects as Disney animation and the Muppets and Hollywood stars Natalie Wood, Marilyn Monroe, Rock Hudson, Greta Garbo and Jack Lemmon. She also produced the 1989 KCET-TV Channel 28 special on William Mulholland, who brought water to the San Fernando Valley, and worked on several reunion specials including Jackie Gleason’s “Honeymooners,” “The Andy Griffith Show” and “The Ed Sullivan Show.” On Monday in Los Angeles of respiratory failure after a long illness.
