An avalanche on New Hampshire’s highest peak, Mt. Washington, left at least one person dead, one day after another avalanche killed a skier in New York. A New Hampshire state police dispatcher confirmed that at least one person had been killed on Mt. Washington, but no other details were available. The 6,288-foot mountain is known as home to the world’s worst weather. On Saturday, a rare avalanche in northern New York’s Adirondacks killed a skier and injured five others. The avalanche occurred on the northeast side of Wright Peak, on the outskirts of Lake Placid.
