U.S. Judge Nominated for Appeals Court
President Clinton said Tuesday that he will nominate U.S. District Judge Johnnie B. Rawlinson of Las Vegas for a seat on the federal Court of Appeals for the 9th Circuit, which has jurisdiction over California and eight other Western states.
Rawlinson has been a federal district judge since 1998 and before that spent 18 years with the Clark County district attorney’s office.
She received her undergraduate degree from North Carolina A&T; State University and her law degree from the University of the Pacific’s McGeorge School of Law.
