The Placentia-Yorba Linda Unified school board approved a fingerprint subscriber agreement this week with the U.S. Dept. of Justice, to hasten background checks for people hired by the district.

The district bought its own fingerprinting machine two weeks ago, and officials plan to start using the equipment immediately.

The subscriber agreement approved by the board will provide the district with the direct access it needs to put the machine into operation immediately so new hires can be fingerprinted.
